in the sunday la times travel section, there was an awesome article about rio de janeiro. at one point the author remarked something like, "how cool is it to be IN ipanema, listening to a brazilian bossa nova group PLAY 'the girl from ipanema', across the STREET (where said girl made her daily walk to the beach) from the CAFE where the song was WRITTEN by Jobim & Morais.
i've been wanting to zero in on south america for the next big trip, but Liz getting excited about going to europe the other night kind of reminded me that i'm not done with europe by a long shot.
i slept ALL day today and i'm not sorry.
