One arm outstretched, Ron's fingers sought out their target, searching for warm skin. Grasping cold sheets instead, he cracked one eye open and glanced to the side. His bed was considerably emptier than it had been when he'd fallen asleep, no petite brunette there to lose himself in again.
The memory of the night before assaulted him, flooding his mind with images; greedy hands and needy kisses, the smooth press of her leg against his hip. Her breasts against his chest as he plunged into her aching heat, over and over again until they both lost themselves to carnal bliss.
She always left. He should be used to it, but he wasn't. The sight of cold sheets in the morning killed whatever need he'd awoken with. Shifting to his side, he turned his back on his side of the bed, resigned.
