This wasn't the sort of place a Greengrass girl frequented, let alone a Greengrass-Malfoy. The wooden floor was worn with the years, the mattress squeaked with every movement, and the sheets were a far cry from the fifteen-hundred thread count Egyptian cotton ones on her bed at home.
The room was dark; not even the moonlight would cast its rays on their coupling. But here, in this dingy room above The Leaky Cauldron, everything was stripped away. Here, it didn't matter that her husband hadn't a faithful bone in his body; nor did it matter that Potter's wife had left him years ago.
Not Potter. Harry.
His name was but a whisper on her lips as he tugged her flimsy dress over her head, casting it aside. Calloused hands-- Auror's hands-- ran over her lily white skin, the softness a stark contrast against his work-worn palms. Astoria couldn't help but sigh, little fingers gripping at his forearm when he cupped her breast.
Not content to remain idle, her own hands found his belt, making quick work of the silver fastenings impeding his skin from hers. She wanted to see him stripped before her, to bare his lean body to her hungry gaze. Draco had taken so much of her for granted, had cast her aside as if she'd been a broom he'd merely tired of.
Here, it was different.
It wasn't love. It wasn't even lust, really. It was something much deeper than that. The deep seated desire shared by two forgotten souls, the need to find someone that would simply let them be.
She had no doubts that whatever they shared would disappear as soon as the sun rose. But for now, just for tonight, they could be together, could share their pain as one.
It would have to do.
For now.
