I'm so glad we didn't haver to cancel our reservation in the end...After 24 days of sickness, I recovered just on time to board the ship!
The hotel resort was beautiful and, did I mention the swimming pool?? :D Look it~ I just wanna dive in there!
A surprise was waiting for us: because our room's air-condition wasn't working, we were moved to the Upper Suite - where, among other amenities and comforts, we discovered we had a balcony as huge as my front garden!! @___@
Being at the top of the resort we could see both the swimming pool and the sea. Basically, we were upgraded from a cheap room to a fully equipped apartment triple in size, with a kitchen, a sitting room and a four-poster bed (my childhood dream), without being charged any diference in price.
I thought the hotel manager was being ultra-generous, but then this conversation happened:
manager: Yes, I decided to change your accomodation. Normally I wouldn't, but I'm doing this for *you* and only * y o u * dear customers...
me: Thank you so m--
manager: --plus, I got a new couple this morning asking for a cheap room so I'll be giving them yours (with the broken air-condition, but they don't know it. yet. aw, I may fix it later.) Sometimes you gotta kill two birds with a stone...
me: uhh...
