Had a couple of good vids in mind and finally decided on this one. The vidder for this week is thally88. I have many of her vids and enjoy her style. The song used is Russian Roulette by Rihanna. The vidder's comments on this are as follows: Sam and Dean have gone through a rollercoaster of emotions the last years... but nothing can break their brotherly love. ---- And Im terrified but Im not leaving Know that I must pass this test So just pull the trigger Enjoy!!!!!

The vid was created by kiwioflurve (or lotr_lemmy). Unfortunately, YouTube blocked the vid on copyright issues, but I was fortunate enough to find that she uploaded the vid on 4shared. This is a beautiful vid and really encapsulates John's love for his sons and Dean's love for his father. I can't help but cry every time I watch this. Enjoy!!

[x] metallidean_grl - Video of the Week: I am again on the theme of Dean and John. I can never seem to get enough of these two. This particular vid is by doode25. The song chosen is 'River Flows in You' by Yiruma. This vid takes a look at the father-son relationship between John and Dean; the struggle, the remorse, and the absolute faith they have in each other. The song is an instrumental piece highlighting what John told Dean in the hospital in 'In My Time of Dying,' interspersed with other scenes and dialogue of interactions and feelings of John and Dean. This is a beautiful vid. Enjoy!! ************************************* Now, the Vid I originally wanted to post, but will instead just link, is from merrill2331. The song used is 'Hurt' by Christina Aguilara, and is a look at Dean in the death of his father John. This is an absolutely beautiful, heart-breaking vid. I can't help but shed some tears each time I view this. John's death and the way he died almost destroyed Dean. Had it not been for Sam, it probably would have. Dean was definitely a broken man after this, and something I still don't think Dean has completely recovered from.

This is a most awesome vid and is a true showcase of the awesomeness that is Dean Winchester and why I love him so much. Enjoy!!!

Heaven is putting a lot of pressure on Dean, the faith of humanity rest heavily on Deans shoulders. Dean took some time off to visit his dads grave. Dean asked his dad why bad things happened to his family. Why do they have to be some kind of heroes? No matter how much Dean tried, he could never change the past. Nothing could stop YED from feeding Sammy with demon blood and killing his mother; nothing could stop Dean from protecting Sammy; nothing could bring his parents back. Happiness is a luxury Dean cannot effort. _______________ This is a wonderful little vid highlighting the lives of John, Mary, Dean and Sam Winchester. Enjoy!!!

[x] Tequila Damage - Arthur Darvill in Faustus; Inception & Star Trek recs; beauty pageants, X-Men question; FASHION!: 6. Star Trek Reboot vid rec: Poker Face (Royal Flush Remix) by kuwdora . Not only is this an excellent fanvid, it's also deliciously self-referential in a very fanon/fandom kind of way. It's a remix of a previous Star Trek vid (set to a different version of Poker Face), which in turn was a reference to Inception's PASIV Face video. I think this new video is my favourite of the three, however.

[x] Bowties Are Cool! - Vid Rec: Firefly: I have to rec this though probably EVERYONE knows this vid and I have no clue how I missed this. The vid is old . Really old. It was made by charmax five years ago, so yeah ....but I didn't know it, okay? There aren't that many great Firefly vids around but a couple really, really good ones and this is certainly one of them. I didn't know the song by Dishwalla since I never listened to them, but the song is gorgeous and so fitting, The video is about Mal and Inara. Until a few months ago I didn't know that Inara was meant to be incurably ill. I somehow always missed the scene with the syringe or didn't pay attention to it or interpreted it as Inara taking drugs. Not sure, but then I read an interview with Monica Baccarin and she confirmed that Inara left the companion house, because she knew she didn't have long to live any more (and Joss probably says something in the commentary but I have never watched my DVDs with commentary on....really should do that at least once). Because of that Inara and Mal were anyway doomed and it means even though they reconciled at the end of Serenity, Inara wouldn't have been around for very long. A typical Joss Whedon relationship. There are no happy ones in his universe. The video. It can be viewed perfectly fine as a break-up vid after Heart of Gold, but the fact that charmax chose to show the Syringe in the very first scene and because she used an effect which made Inara become transparent looking and then vanish makes me thing that she knew about Inara being deadly ill. Think of this vid of what probably have happened if we ever had more then one season. Candleburn by charmax

Well worth a watch/read but be warned of spoilers for pretty much everything ever. It’s one of those wonderfully thought-provoking dark humor/righteous anger pieces, and it crystallized a whole set of my reactions to Man Pain itself, and other peoples’ reactions to Man Pain. [more]

[x] WisCon Vid Party / Space Girl | Infotropism: If you only watch one vid, watch the one that opened our Premieres show, Charmax’s “Space Girl”: (If you’re reading this on Facebook you may have to click through to infotrope.net to see the embed.) Charmax’s vid is a celebration of women in science fiction as well as a criticism of their portrayal. “My momma told me I should never venture into space, but I did, I did, I did.” By the end, our heroine finds her superman - and it is herself. It was amazing to see this vid play live, for the first time, in a group of feminist (and mostly female) science fiction fans, and I’m sure we’ll be playing it again next year.

[x] WisCon Vid Party / Space Girl | Infotropism: If you only watch one vid, watch the one that opened our Premieres show, Charmax’s “Space Girl”: (If you’re reading this on Facebook you may have to click through to infotrope.net to see the embed.) Charmax’s vid is a celebration of women in science fiction as well as a criticism of their portrayal. “My momma told me I should never venture into space, but I did, I did, I did.” By the end, our heroine finds her superman - and it is herself. It was amazing to see this vid play live, for the first time, in a group of feminist (and mostly female) science fiction fans, and I’m sure we’ll be playing it again next year.
