He brings "Subtext" to the table. (And probably doesn't know it!)

So, I was discussing with a co-worker the superhero movies coming out over the next few years, leading up to the Avengers movie. And, I decided last night who I want to play Captain America.

Ready for this?

I want The Rock to play Captain America. That's right, Dwayne Johnson.

"But but but," you say (as my co-worker said), "Captain America is white." To which I reply, "So fucking what?" And I mean that on many levels. But here's a summation: let's not cast the role of Captain America based on his skin color, or more accurately, just his looks alone. The Rock has the impressive (to the point of superhuman) physique needed for the role, as well as good screen presence and charisma. We know he can act, people! That puts him ahead of pretty much anyone ever gotten to play the role, ever. We'll ignore for now the historical accuracy of the military testing stuff on non-white soldiers.

So. I vote Dwayne Johnson for the role of Captain America. Because he'd kick ass.

Let the flaming begin. You people warm up, I'm gonna go get some coffee.
