life is moving way too fast.

our very last chorus concert together is done and over with.
it was one of the saddest experiences of senior year.
this is what i will miss the most about high school, hands down.

singing saints went to cedar point this weekend for a performance.
even though none of us were really into it, we got a superior rating.
had we been in the competition we would have taken first. oh well.

the park itself is so amazing, i still can't believe we were there.
let me tell you a pretty ridiculous and terrifying

this is the top thrill dragster.
it's the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world.

while at the park, it drizzled on and off the whole day. this specific ride can't run in the slightest bit of rain for safety reasons, so during the course of waiting in the 2 hour line, it got shut down twice. after re-opening it the second time, we were 2 trains away from getting on.

the dragster is powered by magnets and it launches you to 120 mph in 8 seconds, using soley momentum to get you up the 400+ foot track. if it's wet, if the ride hasn't been run in a while, if there is too much weight, whatever the reason; it won't work properly.

the first of the 2 trains ahead of us was launched. we watched it go up the right side, anticipating it to come down on the left. it was taking far too long; we were getting a little worried. at this point we could not see the top of the roller coaster since we were in the station and the roof was blocking it. everyone outside began to scream.. then we saw the car come plummeting down the track on the RIGHT SIDE, backwards. it didn't have enough force to clear the top.

apparently this happens quite often, and there are obviously brakes and stuff just in case it does, but it was still enough to completely freak us out. think about it; a giant roller coaster car is flying down a vertical hill at 120 mph and is headed straight for you. uhhh.. yeah.

they launched it again, and this time it barely cleared the hill, but it went over. the train ahead of us was next to go, so it was launched.. yeah. no dice.

the second train also comes falling down the track backwards. by this time we are seated in the car, next to ride. after the second train was re-launched [deja vu?] and made it over, we went.

luckily our train made it over the hill on the first try, otherwise we would have been free-falling like the two before us. it really doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it was horribly upsetting at the time.

not only that, but our train was the LAST ONE TO GO before the ride was completely shut down for "mechanical issues" or something like that. PETRIFYING.

about nearly dying..

overall the trip was so awesome and i'm glad we all became closer.
i'm pleasantly surprised, really.
i never would have guessed that some of us would click like we did.
this can't be coming to an end yet.. but it is.
