Mission San Luis Rey
I went down to Oceanside a couple of weeks ago to visit a friend, and, as I was ridiculously early, I zipped over to the mission there to take some pictures. Of course, my memory for where things are is never great, so it was not as much as a "zip" as I had first thought, and once there, I had only 20 minutes or so to poke around before I had to leave. But it was pretty, and I thought I'd share some of my pictures. I don't have many comments to make about them, since I know so little about the place.
I loved this skull over the cemetery gate. I read, although I'm not sure whether or not it's true, that it was added by Disney when they filmed part of the old Zorro TV series here. If it's true, I think that this might make the skull even more awesome, because they left it up and now it's assumed to be a part of this centuries old religious complex.
