We've been waffling between getting a second dog forever.
Derek and I came to an agreement on an Australian shephard.
Last night, John and I went out to a horse farm in Holland and got to play with 21 puppies. There were two litters to choose from. One set was 5 weeks old, the other set 6 weeks, so they're not quite ready yet. The family that is raising them did a summer day camp at their farm, so (until this week when school started) lots of kids were playing with the puppies every day, socializing them. The parents are on premises, and the father of both litters is a gorgeous solid chocolate / "red" color. They were all very happy, healthy, friendly, smart dogs.
The hard part will be choosing a puppy. There was a little black female with white paws that chomped on my toe and was very rambunctious. Also a few tri-colored puppies with tan paws, black bodies, and white chests. They're all ridiculously adorable. We'd be crate-training it, and taking both puppy and Tyson to real training sessions once the puppy was old enough.
So next Saturday, Derek and I will be out puppy-picking. The hardest choice right now is whether to get a male or female.
