So it looks like I'll have to transfer to another college. Buffalo State doesn't seem to offer any night/weekend business courses, even in the summer. I'm wondering where to go from here - I've always loved the small-class-size cozy atmosphere of Buffalo State paired with its low price. GEICO will give up to $4,500 a year for my tuition and will pay for two classes per semester. So if I went for 2 classes in the fall, 2 in the spring, they would reimburse me up to $1125.00 per class (+ 50% of the cost of my books). That's a lot for one class - at Buff State, one class, after taxes/fees/surcharges/extra surcharges comes to around $630 or so. And I think ECC's are in the $300 range per class (but I'm going for a bachelor degree). Now, GEICO has said they will also pay for summer courses, but no "distance-learning" online courses or "fast-track" degree programs like some of the ones Medaille has.
I'm currently looking at UB's website, class catalogs, etc. But I've never wanted to be one of five hundred students in a class. Does anyone have some local alternatives? Should I take the basics I'd need at ECC (it is closer and cheaper), then transfer out to somewhere else?
Since GEICO will pay a large chunk for each class, does anyone know some other private schools around that have night and weekend programs for business? I have almost all of my general ed classes down, minus two history courses. I just hope that everything 'transfers' right. I haven't been to college in a while, but I still have a great GPA.
