Recent discoveries that are making me outrageously happy
Clipless pedals.
I've converted. Finally! Although there's a bit of a learning curve involved with this...I took a painful fall yesterday morning and my knee is swollen. Everything they say about clipless pedals enabling "better efficiency", which I had always dismissed as complete bullshit, is true...there are a couple of hills I ride up regularly that are normally semi-treacherous, but they feel less-than-treacherous with the pedals and these:
Specialized Riatas. Amazing mostly because it's a cycling shoe that isn't totally ugly! A rare find indeed.
Merino wool.
Forget man-made fibers...merino sweaters from the thrift store are far superior. Can't believe it's taken me this long to convert to merino. It soaks up all yr sweat, and still doesn't smell. How is this possible?! Sheep are amazing.
