as usual...

Jul 09, 2008 01:22

hence the title as usual im bored, its 1:30am and i have no one to talk to and nothing to do (I just read approx 200 pages of a book in 2 hours...im done reading tonight...)

but instead of the usual emo posting spree i decided to keep it up beat tonight^^

I shall thus bitch about work! and our wacky hijinks^^

This sunday during adult swim, when we are supposed to have our on site training, we decided to fuck over the training and goof off^^

a co-worker came in who didnt have to work so we strapped him to the back board used when we have to get someone out of the pool whose injured their back. All 8 of us life guard staff lifted him up so we were all holding the left side of the board and he was hanging in the air with us holdign him and the head guard took pictures^^

then we all did a couple one on one pictures (a majority of these Danny was upside down for^^) and then a group pic^^

as one final bit of torcher Grant, a co-worker weighing in at 165, decided to sit on the back board as Bobby (the head guard) lifted Danny's feet up so Danny could do push ups with grant sittign on the board.

He managed a few so we decided to up the weigh say...70 pounds^^

grant got off and i sat down and I had to stand back up immediately or I woulda killed Danny, he just *collapsed* under me! i was mildly humored^^.

My swim lessons this session have been a mixed barrel...for those of you who dont know (that should be all of you XD) I teach lessons from 4:45 to 7:45 pm monday through friday. thats 5 lessons at a half hour each.

Last session I had a ton of little bastards who were to energetic for their own damn good (i swear one of these days i *WILL* hold them under till the bubbles stop rising...) but this session the kids are all good^^

My first class is a dolphins 2 class, read: kids 10 or older who should be in level 3. But the whole damn class (4 of the 5 kids) all should be regular dolphins...read: kids 10 or older in level 1 or 2. A little annoying since im in a lane and cant move from said lane where not even i can touch by a good 4 feet. these kids are working on frontstroke and tummy floats when they should be swimming laps and learning breaststroke. Its not bad just a bit more added to my plate then I thought i had to deal with.

second class is a level 2 class (kids 6 to 10 working on back stroke) but the damn class is full of kids who cant do anything on their front...i.e. a bunch of level 1s (again!) at least this time they can touch >.>. w/e they are all good kids and the class is small and they listen well enough^^ (2 of them even actually learned how to do something today! I always like when class material actually sticks^^)

third class is level 3, kids workign on the butterfly stroke's kick, endurance for front and back stroke and the legs for elementry back stroke. these kids are made of pure awesome. I love this class ^^

4th class is my level 1s (hey, at least this time i knew what i was getting into...). Day 1 went off without a stich, i took the kids afraid to go underwater but they gave me a swim aid (read slave and/or volunteer) to help so it wasnt bad. What was bad is today a parent shows up and says "hey my kids joining your class" and that "the head guard told him so". so i call the head guard over (mind i still haev to teach the class while dealing with the new kid and dealing with the head guard *AND* I have to be polite and not make the kid feel like he's a nuisance (i did feel bad for the kid). So he head guard just says "deal for now we will figure this out after" and i do. till she shows up 10 minutes later saying one of my kids (not this new one) wasn't on the roster and shouldnt have lessons. so i pull the kid aside, ask him where his parents are and point the head guard off in that direction. she shows back up and says "well he got moved down from level 2, can he swim at all?"  my response "no he's the only kid in the class who has yet to put his face in the water" (ie this kid is going no where). At this point im thinking my kid's parents are annoyed and i'm annoyed so i just tell her we can deal with it later i've got to teach.

*SOON AS* my lesson ends some parent calls me over and says "hey are you the level 1 teacher?" and i tell them yes. the dad says "well the head guard told me to put him in one of the guys classes (im the only guy instructor for level 1 at that time) and so i test the kid quickly and he should be in my class (couldnt swim at all) so i'm looking at dealign with 8 little boys who cant swim or go underwater...when thankfully it turns out the parent go confused and the kid isnt in my class! talk about adding on some stress! i was ready to chew nails! I love the class but dear god things could be way simplier XD

my last lesson of the day is a private lesson (i get paid double! hurray!) not only that but this little girl gets mentally written down as "Miracle child #5". This girl just turned 6 years old (you cant even start level 1 till 6 years old) and is already before taking private lessons with me a level 3 student! (read: most are 9 or 10). Also! Most children take 4 weeks to learn dolphin kick (thats the butterfly kick where you keep your legs together), this little barely 6 year old girl *mastered* the dolphin kick in the last 5 minutes of lessons today...

dear god i wish i could swim so good! in any event i recommended to her mother to sign her up for some sort of swim team right away (and they can thank me when it pays her way through college!)

I love my job^^

never want to be a teacher ever after having this job but it certainly keeps things interesting^^

moving onto other topics...I need to find something thats datable >.>

You damn couples you... I have more friends in relationship then out of them!

steven, Lauren, Peter, shelby, and tanner...

Damn you you couply people you >.>

hope you know how good you've got it, being in a relationship has its own issues for damn sure but its nice to have someone ya know?^^ (note: not an emo rant. I'm all in "awww nostalgia 'good memories'" mode >.>)

I'm reading the Wheel of Time series again, to sum up the placement of the setting: in 3 thousand years civilization will be destroyed and rebuild itself into a utopia where 3% of all men and women can use magic and use it to improve society. Then basically they break some all powerful evil entity's prison a little and the world goes to hell again...they seal him away but when they do he corrupt the magic used by men so they all go fucking bonkers and to quote "tear the world asunder". it is now 300years later, civilization had at one poitn rebuilt itself into say the holy roman empire level of civilization but has now been crushed down to the dark ages of civilization.

the plot: Rand Al'thor is "the Dragon reborn". The Dragon was Lews Therin Telamon, a man who could channel and was the greatest foe against the dark one. After beign driven insane the dragon was renamed Lews Therin Kinslayer after he brutally murdered his own family and is blame for breaking the world.

Rand's fate to break the world once again and to die thus saving humanity, "His blood on the rocks of Shay Ghul is the salvation of mankind". Its a good series despite my horrible description and if you liked lord of the rings you'd like it. Robert Jordan is a great writer for battle scenes and the books have many battles^^. the greatest complaint is the general length of each book (roughly 600 to 1200 pages long pending the book) and the level of detail he write about. Borrow the first book from me sometime^^

and im bored and its 3am but i should at least try to sleep i suppose...
