(no subject)
We made it to the beach safely. Just 3 of us to start with on Saturday & Sunday, but Patrick arrived this morning & hopefully Bethany will get here Wednesday night sometime. The house is nice, just 4 BR so perfect for 3 singles and a couple. It has 2 king-sized beds so I get one of the king BRs facing the beach so I get the surf sounds all night.
I'm a little bummed because I have been told not to walk on the shifty sand with my bad knee, but I may venture down to the water's edge very very carefully with my cane & with the guys accompanying me...just to get my feet wet once. The long walks on the beach can wait until next year, I suppose (assuming the orthopedic specialist can actually repair whatever I've done to the knee - I see him the first week in October).
I'm working on velyr stories (and putzing around with Alexa Answers, catching up on my reading, and playing card games with the guys). Last night we played some cutthroat Uno and today we're going to try some of Patrick's immensely complicated board games (he loves being the only one who really understands the rules). We may go to the aquarium Thursday or Friday if everyone wants to go, and will definitely go out to eat Friday night so we don't have a ton of leftovers to clear out of the fridge Saturday morning.
I may or may not work on a romance plot outline while I'm here. I haven't been paid for the last one yet and I generally like to have that down before I start the next story. Hopefully she will read that one soon & pay me for it because I have 2 plots in mind that I'd like to send her.
Sitting around on the sofa is a little tiring but it's the only way I can think of to elevate the knee since there aren't any recliners in the house. At least it's lounging on the sofa at the beach
