(no subject)
Had a chat with the publisher on Zoom ... it was 8pm his time because he's in the UK. He was interested in my writing but says he's had the best luck with shorter books. He would like me to see if I can cut my novels down to around 35K and make a longer series out of them. They've been having more success with shorter books that are part of a series ... their readers like having several books lined up to go.
I'm not entirely certain I can cut Outlaw Security down to 35K the way it's set up now -- but if I change things around a bit ... After all, the first book isn't necessarily about the case, but about the guys getting caught and blackmailed into going straight. At any rate, I'll give it a shot and see what I can come up with.
*Sigh* Of course, I also have my sci-fi stories to work on before the end of the month, and that novel to overhaul and edit. I really need to just win the lottery so I don't have to have a day job.
