How in the world did it get to be nearly December already??

I'm barely ready for Thanksgiving -- going to the sister's for turkey and dressing and holiday movie-watching -- and here it is almost Christmas. Only a month to go ... sheesh.

It's probably time to break out the holiday movies since I no longer have cable TV and can't watch the Hallmark Channel. I've got The Holiday, Scrooge (with Albert Finney), Love Actually, Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life, The Muppet Christmas Carol, the 3 Santa Clause movies, White Christmas, and a smattering of Hallmark oldies-but-goodies. I wonder if Britbox has a holiday section ...

Of course, before Thanksgiving is World of Warcraft New Expansion Day (11/23). That's when the new lore comes out and everybody and his brother will be playing WoW hours and hours out of every day. I may play an hour or two myself. It does look interesting.

And after Thanksgiving is the 60th Birthday Bash in New Orleans. I still have to make out a rough itinerary for us. The roomie and I are arriving on my birthday around 11am so we'll have the full day. Not sure when B and A are arriving but I believe they're driving down instead of flying. I need to coordinate with them so we can plan where to meet up and start on our sight-seeing. I'd like to do at least one walking tour, one of those hop-on/hop-off bus things, a midnight breakfast, maybe afternoon tea, and some jazz clubs. I might even fork over for a psychic reading if I can remember to call the guy and set something up. Never had a "real" psychic reading before and I'd like to see what I've been missing!

This Christmas is going to be a bit lean though, without an actual paycheck. I'll have to see what interesting little souvenirs I can pick up in New Orleans for stocking stuffers and maybe order some stuff for smaller gifts for cousins and the mailperson etc. We'll have that at my sister's place as well. I wonder if U2-X Radio on Sirius XM will play Christmas carols for the 1&1/2 hour drive (that's one way).

Well, I'd better get back to that short story I'm supposed to be working on ...

that'll do!, mind the gap, don't get between me and my coffee, but wait ... there's more!, crivens!, you can't choose your family
