Update on RL Crap
So we all sat down and had a nice, long chat last night ... me, J, the woman who's acting suspiciously, and another friend. We got some stuff off our chests and the woman surprised us by saying that she thinks J does need to stay at the retirement community where she is. Perhaps the move to NC isn't from this woman, but something J dreamed up ... on the other hand, me being the suspicious bastard I am, I am postponing judgement until I see more evidence.
Their explanation of what's been going on is that they've been running around collecting medical records from all of J's doctors and taking them to Charlotte NC to a neurologist for a second opinion. This doesn't satisfy my curiosity about why the Power of Attorney has been changed, nor why she had to visit her financial adviser so suddenly, but as I said, I'll postpone judgement for now.
At least J will be staying put where she has round-the-clock care if she needs it, sitters to help her get to her activities every day, and tons of activities to get to. In other words, the stimulation she needs to combat her (supposed) dementia instead of sitting around all day dwelling on her condition.
I noticed that her mind was as sharp as ever last night, when she was mad at all of us for suspecting this woman...
