Update
I was going to post yesterday, but I spent the afternoon in a drug-induced semi-coma and was unable to do anything more coherent than play video games and snore!
Surgery went well -- I don't remember anything after chatting with the oral surgeon as he did my IV. My friend J drove me there and back, and seemed to be amused by my drugged ramblings. Stopped at the pharmacy for some coma-inducing pain medicine and soft but nutritious foods like soup, puddings, and jello! I did manage to call my sister and talk with my best friend B when he phoned, but that was about my limit other than mindless video gaming.
Other than the residual surgical pain, I feel 99% better. He must have lanced the abscess while he was in there, because the knot in my cheek is gone along with the half-tooth. I already feel more energy, now that I'm not fighting off the infection, and should be fine and dandy to go back to work tomorrow. I'm planning another lazy day today to be certain that I'm rested up. This is my weekend off coming up, though, so even if work wears me out, I'll have plenty of time to recuperate before next week.
