Threw curlers on head early
Went to yoga studio just to work; didn't get up in time for class
Ran to Baggenstos and picked raspberries and strawberries - oh, so lovely out
Ran home and attacked potato salad and deviled eggs
Made up face and ran out door to Tony's
I-5 ultra-slow, arrived 15 min late, yipes
Lots of hair comments, esp from hairdressers! My!
Talked to one of the Midnight Serenaders about crops and produce quality affected by weather
Headed home round about 11:30
Saturday
Up early
Phil & Azure arrived just in time; got on the road
Made a pit stop and ended up at the Washington Capitol - wow
Missed the turn to Gig Harbor and while turning around got to see Union Station, more wow
(There's Chihuly in there and the building makes the city look like Naboo, yowza)
Got there just in time, even though left 2 hours early! (Remember to do that next time)
Tons of people as soon as we got in the door! People absolutely everywhere. Kim & Danny's house huge, incredible thing. Ate, got compliments on the deviled eggs. Little program for Aunt Lois, wonderful video of photos by K&D. Donna got everybody crying by getting all the siblings to actually pick her up and rock her while a song played - something about still a child to me? - something. Jumbled up all together for a family photo - took us 15 minutes to get herded and in place! Gathered around the piano and sang a bit. Talked and talked and talked. Dan was so sweet to take Johnnie most of the time. Azure charmed the pants off everyone.
Got going around 8. Philip kinda grumpy; unhappy about situation with Dad. He lets them affect him so strongly, it's always hard for me when he has such negative feelings. Poor little Azure exhausted and weeping whenever she awoke. Got home feeling bad that they had to drive another hour to get home.
Since seeing those photos, I've felt inspired to do a family website, mainly for scans of ephemera and old pictures. After seeing Kim and Danny's house and really noticing their own radiance, I want to be a better caretaker of my body and my home.
