I can't think of a more deliciously heartbreaking book. I've only read Peter and Wendy, and Margaret Ogilvy, myself. I never knew how many things he'd written until today. Heavens.
Oh my, what an utterly lovely description of your gardens. I adore gardens, but I've not had one of my own yet. I didn't ever grow up with a garden, so I have a hard time knowing where to start. I know I'll have one, and it will be easier than I think, but... what do I do first?
Oh my again! I just love The Secret Garden. Yes, mint is certainly lasty. It makes sense that that was the plant that stayed. My dad used to harvest mint, and he said all his clothes would reek of it and it would burn his nasal passages. When you drive through Brooks in August, the scent of the crops comes wafting over the fields and right into your car. Mmmmmmm....
I'm happy you looked at my interests. I'm rather proud of them.
Here's what I'll have in my garden, aside of the scrumpest veggy-tubbles you ever ate: hollyhocks lilies of the valley pink poppies violas and pansies sunset-colored sweetheart roses blue and white bellflowers dahlias calla lilies Benton strawberries an apple tree of that mystery variety, once I discover what it is!
