Checking back in
Heyyyy...so I haven't been around here for a while, but I've started dipping my toes back into fannish waters of late, so I thought I'd stop by. I've missed the place. ^_^
I've just created an AO3 account; you can find me there as the_original_n_chan, lol. Right now, I've only got one fic up there, a stand-alone from my fit of Blue Exorcist obsession. The rest of those stories will probably go up there eventually, along with a couple of Avatar: TLA fics. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to put any or all of my older stories up there too. (I don't know if I'm up for all that work, to be honest. :P )
I've recently gotten into the anime-and-manga series Attack on Titan (aka Shingeki no Kyojin), which I think is really cool, but whyyyyyy are 90 percent of the fics high school or college AUs? Kickass dark monster-fighting anime with awesome soldier ladies who totally pass the Bechdel test and psychotic angsty boys with crazy eyes and a bunch of grim social commentary...and we end up with school drama? Oi.
For myself, right now I'm focusing on writing original fiction. I've started yet another new story because I wanted to work on something completely frivolous and fangirlish yet not actually fanfiction--basically wanting to keep this as low-pressure as possible. I'm up to chapter 2 and just shy of 10,000 words, so it's going pretty well so far! I'm freewheeling it mostly, with no outline and only a sketchy idea of plot elements beyond the character introductions, but I'm having fun. I'm feeling a distinct lack of story jamming in my life at the moment, so maybe I'll post some blah-blah about the characters and stuff here.
Otherwise, not too much going on. Life's pretty good. ^_^
