WHO: Everyone ever. Essentially everyone who responded to the planning post for this.
WHAT: Some dork wanted to go exploring in the dungeon. For some reason, people are going with him.
WHEN: Monday, December 19th
WHERE: The business district/ the dungeon

Funny. She'd signed up to, to use a less-than-polite term, babysit. Glancing between Kaiji and Miki, she briefly thought that 'babysitting' might turn out to be a... uniquely fitting use of terminology.

Kaoru shrugged. Her eyes went lightless instead of just creepily dilated, but she didn't seem to mind.

"A table." Her expression didn't change. "Any threatening monster would just destroy it."

Kaiji was going to do his best to just outright ignore Miki for as long as possible. Easier said than done, though.

"I wish we could be so lucky. Putting an end to them for once and for all would be great."

Somehow the lanky bastard found a swordsmith in Prospero (???????). Souji has a sheathed katana in hand.

Really? They come out of a Doorway? We could attach some rope to Kaiji and send it though to see where it goes.

A pause as she considered it, "I think, anyway. Didn't see any when I was nosing around before, but I didn't have the leisure to glance about at length."

Which is to say there was running and shaking off pursuing shadows. Lots of it.

An afterthought was added. "Also, veto-ing all suggestions of Kaiji-used-as-bait. Pretty sure Saori votes that as well, so I'll just call it by-proxy."

"It's a valid suggestion," Kaoru deadpanned. She walked away from the group, apparently not caring about safety, and pushed past a tower of boxes. It had been easier when she had her strength from home, that was for sure.

You are confronted by the stairs down, eventually. The shadows seem less frequent here, and they spiral down on marble steps, hardly the usual way a warehouse's stairs work. Do you continue?

Of course the naive brave explorers continue! Souji peers into the darkness of the descending stair case before looking back up.

At least Devola was on Kaiji's side. And someone thought to bring a flash light. Kaiji shined a light downwards to get a better look.

"Huh. This seems a little outta place..."

Devola withdrew a pen-flashlight and activated it, glancing downward into the depths. Material, architectural style, even the geometry of the stairs seemed wrong somehow. While she wasn't unused to "unnatural" phenomena, this was still a distinctly new experience.

"Place gets pretty fancy come the Dark Hour, huh? Makes ya wonder what that ritzy restaurant looks like right about now."

Kaoru stared down the staircase. "It's changed beyond the lighting and coffins. It's to be expected, since the Dark Hour even affects our bodies."

She pushed forward and started walking down the stairs herself.

[ Considering the ruckus the kid stirred last night, he's doing pretty well today! Souji is swinging his sword around like no one's business, even able to hack a few of those menacing dancing hands into shreds! Though when a physical-attack-proof Maya rolls up, Souji will be tugging your sleeve (or touching your forearm if you're not wearing sleeves...) ]

Can you hit that one with magic?

[ How in the hell did Souji get here? Clearly it's group effort. Or something. Never the less, now's a great chance to catch up on some rest, since shadows for some reason can't climb or descend stairs...

Souji is sitting in the middle of the staircase, already looking ahead down to Level 2. ]
