just got back from the pub (as always)
I almost got into a fight tonight.
I was with my roomate and my friend Frank (who is from Cork but living in England...he came over for our trip to the Aran Islands tomorrow).
I am used to the political discussions dealing with the Irish (thats all they can bring up when talking to us)
There was this one kid who said to me that the US govt gave weapons to al queda and it was our own fault that
we got attacked. I asked him to repeat himself loud enough so my roommate could hear it and my roomate told him to go fuck himself.
Frank chimed in that he had no business saying anything because Ireland attacked Britain in WW1 and Nazi Germany supplied Ireland with arms.
he is a big believer in at least winning the argument.
I stared him down the whole time....I am not a violent person but I was ready to fucking kill this kid, and so was my roomate.
His friends kind of sensed that and got between us. my roommate and Frank both went to the bathrrom and I figured once that happened the kid would come over to me and start shit.
He came over and apologized for saying stuff and said he didnt mean to offend us, of course it was haf hearted because he knew that he would be in a world of shit if he said anything else.
It just pisses me off because it's not the american people that cause shit, it's the government.
but at the same time this asshole has no fucking right to say anything...God I wanted to end him right there....i am sick of this bullshit.
