L O S T spoilers...

Behind the cut will be incoherent ramblings on the Season premiere of L O S T :

L O S T was at least as spectacular as I anticipated. The local news, Dateline and Jimmy Kimmel all had spots about L O S T afterward, meaning I was in the L O S T mindset from 9pm-12:45am. The only reason I ever got into L O S T was Jimmy Kimmel's hilarious Season 2 premiere episode. His fanboying is contagious. It's the middle of the night so my thoughts are a bit jumbled, but a specific element I appreciated was Kate and Jack (both of whom irritate me but are neccesary to the plot) relying on a pen (for escape and rescue) in contrast to the parallel moment in Season 1 when Boone was meant to look foolish fetching a pen for emergency medical help. I think all of the parallel storylines were spot on. Kate and Sawyer in the elevator was pretty perfect as was the scene with Sun and Jin dealing with security. It was interesting to see Jack's role reversed with Rose on the plane (he being the nervous flyer this time) and with Locke in the airport. Man of Science, Man of Faith REDUX!

I loved getting inside the temple and being introduced to new characters. I noticed that the translating wasn't going both ways from the first interaction and I LOVED the comment about English tasting terrible on his tongue.

WE FINALLY GOT A THOUROUGH EXPLAINATION OF THE SMOKE "MONSTER"!

Sayid died? Oh wait, he didn't? I really didn't think he would but damn! That was close. Or maybe he did die and is now inhabited by Jacob... There was alot of role reversal in this episode but the climax of it for me was seeing Richard Alpert pwn'd by "Locke" who is of course inhabited by "Jacob's Nemesis/the man in black"! My demigod is not supposed to go down like that! (I am looking forward to a flashback involving him in chains though...)
