DEATH CAB MAKE MOVIES
Seattle indie darlings DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE will ring in 2006 by releasing a series of short films, "Directions," inspired by songs on their fifth album, 2005's "Plans." Twelve films have been created -- by artists including P.R. BROWN (MARILYN MANSON), graphic novelist JEFFREY BROWN and photographer AUTUMN DE WILDE (FIONA APPLE, WHITE STRIPES). "We just wanted to pick the best concepts and let people do what they wanted to do," bassist NICK HARMER told Rolling Stone. The completed shorts will debut on the group's Web site, deathcabforcutie.com, in early January.
