They've got to be kidding
Is today a day off for ANYONE besides the lazy so-and-sos in our local city hall? Our bank is open, the library is open and my husband mailed a package from the OPEN post office this morning. Yet we've had no trash pickup and the DPW phone is ringing off the hook. It's bad enough that our city's website went two years without being updated, then disappeared altogether. They can't set up an answering machine? There is no way I'd pay to support any system this messed up, which makes me wonder exactly why we're paying taxes. I feel like trying to get a measure onto the ballot before the next local election, stipulating that city workers have to get off their lazy asses once in a while.
I know it's Lincoln's birthday, but they'll take Washington's birthday AND Presidents' Day, too, mark my words.
