recent acquisitions

My husband is looking up kittens on youtube ODing on cute. I am wasting time on polyvore, letting the meds work.

♥ I bought this Laura Lees coat at Top Shop on Oxford St. It has Edwardian puff sleeves but is really a 60's mod shape. I love the print. It has day-glo dice and a leaf embroidered on the collar. On the cuffs "Rock and Roll" is embroidered on a tattoo style heart. I spent too much money on this. It fits me perfectly. I feel like I should return it. If the guilt continues, I probably will take it back.

♥ a little kyusu teapot that I love-- mine actually has a rough glaze so it looks "wooden" and very fey. It is ergonomic and very practical.

♥ stripey footless tights in dark teal and another pair in burgundy. I found them in Weston.

♥ The perfect matte lipstick at Screen Face. It looks the same, feels the same and even smells and tastes the same as my old standby I thought was discontinued. It even has the exact same content label and packaging, only the brand name is different. How strange is that, that I should find it again in London!

♥ Anna Sui lip gloss ring. I had one of these for years, it kept breaking and I kept repairing it. I'm having a new one shipped to me in America. (Thanks, stutefish for fielding the deliveries).

♥ day-glo pink wool, which I also found in Weston. It is eye-bleedingly bright. I'm goign to make a scarf. If I wear it at night I will be very safe.

♥ my pumpkin queen brolly. My Liberty brolly finally bit the dust, and I mourned it. I bought it when I first moved here, a total splurge. I attributed it with all kinds of secret powers. Since liberty no longer make brollies I had to replace it with something equally impressive. This one wasn't cheap-- it's Italian, donchakno. I use an umbrella so much here, it just makes sense to get a nice one.

♥ gunpowder tea! From the little tea shop in Covent Garden. I bought it because of the name, admitedly, and because the little folded leaves look like vegetal jewels. I got the kind flavored with mint. It seemed to actually help my asthma at bit. It is very strong and bracing. I love it.
