Canada Day

Jul 01, 2005 13:44

We'll be going to a barbeque at my brother's place today. It's a ten minute drive outside the city, on top of a windblown hill, but the view is spectacular. In the evening we'll come back and take in the Jazz festival, and after that we may go to the fireworks display. Trouble is, getting near the park where the fireworks are held is almost impossible unless you plan to arrive three hours in advance. We live close by and every year the traffic is bumper to bumper from about 8:00 p.m. until midnight. Also, after all the rain I can only imagine the swarms of mosquitos by the river. As it is, you can't step outside for a minute without being attacked by the buggers. So, we'll see.

Must get ready for a day of festivity. It's hot and humid and I hear there are a few cold ones with my name on them. ;D

On the back of a cartoon coaster
In the blue tv screen light
I drew a map of canada
Oh canada
And your face sketched on it twice

Oh you are in my blood like holy wine
Oh and you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you
I could drink a case of you darling
And I would still be on my feet
Oh I’d still be on my feet
