hairdo, pixie, poverty and pretty faces

Yesterday I'd decided to get my long, unruly hair cut off. I'd asked the hairstylist to cut my hair to shoulder length. The length at the back is now a few inches short from shoulder length. The front sides are just under my ears. Apparently, hairstylists prefer to conceptualize hair length in a future tense. I'm getting used to the cut, though. It feels much lighter and manageable, and now that I've washed out the hairspray and got rid of the silly flip it isn't so bad. It'll grow. My stylist is such a nice guy I couldn't tell him I didn't care for it. I smiled and said it looked great when he handed over a mirror to look at my new do. But at the time I thought, "oh great, I have short hair and look silly." I'm glad I didn't tell him what I really thought, because today I'm happy with my do.
