Don't mean to brag BUT... 14 Gold Medals for Canada. The most gold for any country during the Winter Olympics in history. I am amazed at how great we are. lol Seriusly though, I don't care about these kind of things. I don't watch sports. The exception is figure skating. I'm not into team sports, yet, for the last few weeks I've been mesmerized by snow and ice sports. I watched just about everything I could.
And the best was the last. Fourteen of us, friends and family, watched the Canada vs. USA hockey on Sunday. At the end we all jumped up and cheered like mad. I mean like crazy mad. I hate to admit it but we even sang along to O' Canada. Crazy. I love my crazy family
Maybe it was wine-induced euphoria but it was so much fun.
Olympic Favourites:
Opening ceremonies.
Jon Montgomery and his helmet with the turtle designed by First Nation artist. Jon saved a turtle from being crushed on the highway one day, and later chose the turtle as his spirit animal.
Joannie Rochette and her gracious, strong spirit.
Moir and Virtue- ice dance perfection.
Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse - Women's bobsleigh. They just seemed so sweet, and their friendship really shone through.
Charles Hamelin. 500m speed skate. Beats Apolo "sourgrapes" Ohno. Yay.
The medals - best design ever and each one with unique aspect of the raven or whale.
Now Olympic withdrawal is setting in.
