Only 3 more weeks left of school..
Yeah.. In just about 3 weeks from today, my 16 year career as a student will come to an end and I'll be moving on to the treacherous working world... While there have been many times in those 16 years when I had wished I were out of school due to various reasons, now I can't quite bear to leave this comfortable world and move on... It's hard to quantify what I really like about being a student and what I will miss, it's the entire environment protecting us and yet giving us so many opportunities, so many chances to learn, the freedom to do what we want, yet not really having to take responsibility for our actions. Furthermore, studying abroad here in the US has given us even more freedom and independence, living on our own, having to take care of the house, even trivial things like remembering to pay bills and such, all these things have undoubtedly taught me how to take care of myself and helped me grow up. I will definitely miss all of these things when I return to Singapore in about a month.
Sad things aside, there is also a lot that I'm looking forward to on returning, most of all, I look forward to hanging out with my dear girl friends again! Reading about their shopping adventures and high teas together really makes me miss them sooo much! Somehow, never really found a group of girls to hang out with over here, so I've been deprived of girlie fun for a long time... You girls will hafta reinitiate me into the girlie world! Also looking forward to redoing my bedroom in Singapore. Coz I've been away for 4 years, my bedroom has kinda been frozen in time and still looks like a young teenage girl's room, all pink and full of soft toys, not to mention an old dying computer! Lots to be done to it, repaint the walls, get new furniture, computer, deco, and the idea of all that gets me rather excited. =)
Of course one big part of making the transition from here to Singapore is the packing! And that is not fun at all! I can't believe how much clothes I've collected over my 4 years here, no wonder my allowance disappears so quickly each time! According to my bf, my clothes alone will fill up 5 large suitcases, arghz! Shall get back to packing now... *groan*
