Over a nice gossipy lunch with my fanboy buddy yesterday, I was happy to pass on two items of news that was sure to please him.

One, that I'd watched Firefly at last, almost in its entirety.

And two, that I had absolutely no desire to slash anyone in it. They're perfect just as they are, I don't need to mess with that.

In the non-RL-friend gossip, he shared that Adam Baldwin recently endured a classic "sign-my-boob" moment in Toronto. When asked, he first demurred, but gave in when the fan said, "Jayne would do it." Sigh.

The other interesting tidbit was that the uber-fanboy himself, The Mighty Joss, will have his very own cameo in an upcoming episode of Veronica Mars. I don't watch the show (heresy, I know) but will definitely check that out when it happens.

I tried to describe my recent complete crush on The Sentinel, but my buddy wasn't having anything of it. 'Cheaply done in Vancouver," he sniffed- hey buddy, so was The X-Files!- and "too generic" to hold his interest. Yeah, because slashy-as-hell buddy shows where one participant has five super-sharp heightened senses?- why, there's a new one every year. Except not.

Yesterday night, I was at a very trendy nightclub in Toronto with my husband and a gaggle of his coworkers. By "trendy" I mean "ten dollar martinis" and "gaggles of shiny singles most definitely on the prowl". Added to the mix was a bachelorette party featuring a tiny, gorgeous, drunken blonde bride, and a whole area of banquettes roped off and guarded by bouncers with earpieces- probably reserved for some Toronto Film Festival luminaries later.

And speaking of the film festival, does anyone know if Eliza Dushka is in town? Because the husband thinks he totally bumped into her, literally, on the stairs down to the washrooms. "Tiny and hot," he said.

Sounds about right.
