I'm feeling devious
You're looking glamorous
Let's get mischievous
And polyamorous
Wine and women and wonderful vices
Welcome to the cult of Dionysus
It's not often a rock (pop rock?) song fits as a soundtrack for reading Greek tragedy, but when that play is The Bacchae by Euripides? It so works.
Also, I hope we discuss this in class because quite interestingly the "Bacchae?" Is a bunch of "raving women who, stung by holy frenzy, went darting off into the wilds in a flurry of bare feet," aka the women of Thebes is orgiastic revelry. Interesting.
Also, yes, I have a W13 post in the works.
