Nostalgia isn't always what it's cracked up to be. (Oh, the irony.) And sense-memory connections are not always positive. Every now and then I get a whiff of some...odor with cabbage overtones? It reminds me of a day in preschool when I refused to eat the cabbagey lunch and made a fuss and generally wasn't happy. At least, that's what I gather from the bizarre mixture of emotions and childish petulance that arises with the scent. I have no concrete memory of what exactly the dish was, and I'm not even sure cabbage played any part of it. The scent that triggers the bizarre memory-emotion is elusive as well.
So maybe you're missing out...or maybe you're more highly evolved than the rest of us sniffers.
Yeah. I had a hard time cleaning out my boxed-up stuff at my parents place when I was moving West, because objects evoke such strong memories in me that I often get into this sort of sad bummed out mood.
I wonder why that is? I wonder what is surpressed? I see in other comments that they say nostalgia isn't all it's cracked up to be. My opinion is yeah, Nostalgia can be sad, but it can also be wonderful. We take the good with the bad that is what gives depth. Maybe you should talk to someone about that Vel. *smooch*

...If I collected dolls of figures, I'd ABSOLUTELY play with them. But that's just me.
*hugs* I'm sorry to hear you are still suffering from that writers block! T_T Shall I beat it up for you?
Good luck shopping and I hope things get less boring in the GOOD way soon!
