I love Al. He needs more ficcage devoted to him.

You are just soooo mean to poor Al lately. At least he wasn't raped or anything in this one, but you certainly did torture him mentally. I guess this concept was already there for you to work with, so you don't get quite as many sadism points as you did for say.. the random tentacle plant.

But this was awesome and very emotional. I felt so bad that he couldn't cry. I probably would have cried if he'd been able to though..

This was actually GEN! Amazingly enough. No raping, just repeated fratricide. No I guess I don't get many sadism points... except with the whole having to kill your own father bit. I mean, that's gonna leave a scar, no matter how bad Al's memory is.

Hm.. I keep hearing this word "gen" and.. I don't know what it means!! ;_;

Yes, I'd imagine that has to be quite.. scarring. I didn't say you were completely lacking in sadism points. Obviously, since it involved Al and you seem quite fond of torturing him lately. O_O

Gen means no pairings. Short for general. No romantic interaction. Which USUALLY implies less squick... but not always. Some people define Gen as meaning heterosexual or canon pairings, but I've never seen it actually used that way. For heterosexual pairings, people usually use Het.

I only torture the ones I love.

...I think the first time I scanned my flist you hadn't added that part yet.
I was very worried. xD;

Hee hee. I can OCCASIONALLY write something other than hard core smut.

Although I think it's very funny that you would find a gen story worrisome.

Hoo, man.. very broken. ^^; My Hohenheim muse is a little traumatized from reading this, but he's based on the anime, not the manga, and in manga continuity, this feels all too plausible... poor Al. *hugs him*

I thought this was really well done; my only criticism is that I personally find it jarring to have random Japanese sprinkled in an English language fic, especially when the characters themselves aren't Japanese. So I thought the use of 'Niisan', while linguistically accurate, was distracting. But of course, it's your fic, and if you think 'Niisan' works better than 'Brother', then that's totally your choice. : )

The anime Hohenheim was a much nicer person than the one in the Manga. But honestly, the one in the manga feels more real to me. The Anime Hohenheim just didn't seem enough of a bastard to have repeatedly sacrificed hundreds of people just to lengthen his own life. Whereas the Manga Hohenheim -- it's no wonder he had nothing to with his kids and dropped his wife like a stone. He is EVIL. Utterly evil.

And for some reason, I find it cool that Ed and sweet Al were the product of a truly evil man.
