Positive healing thoughts/prayers request
My friend and colleague SB is undergoing a kidney biopsy this morning. They are trying to find out what type of nephrotic syndrome (kidney disease) she has. She is an otherwise extremely healthy and active mother of two small children (to add insult to injury, her husband was just laid off last week). This illness came on suddenly and the only symptom she had was swollen ankles. Fortunately, she knew that could be a problem and saw her doctor for some tests, and every one pointed to nephrotic syndrome...lots of protein in her urine, low albumin, high cholesterol (the liver is "helping," much like
larp_tech), and edema. Basically, her kidneys are attacking themselves and they don't know why, yet.
I realize that you don't know her. Still, your positive thoughts and prayers for both a speedy recovery from the biopsy and a definitive diagnosis (so they can treat it appropriately) would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
