Shane sent me a little video message today from Comic-Con, and OMG it was of Bryan Fuller saying hi to me! Isn't he awesome and adorable? (And he did his best unintentional Billy Mays tribute, trying to pimp the Pushing Daisies comic at every opportunity. OMG PRECIOUS.) ♥
WE ARE CLEARLY BIFFLES NOW, so he better get to work on that new Trek series because BF as a Trek showrunner? Holllly shit it's my ultimate fangirl wetdream. I seriously will die of glee-induced brain hemorrhaging if it ever happens. Especially if Lee Pace is cast. LEE PACE AS A VULCAN, HOLY SHIT I AM BLOWING MY OWN MIND. And Katee Sackhoff could be the captain, and Idris Elba could be the CMO and his shirt would be constantly ripped off, and Ben Daniels could be head of Security and his shirt would be constantly ripped off...
Don't even look at me like that. You know it would be awesome.
♥ ♥ ♥ TY Shane!
Promo Pics for Jorja's appearance on that random Margaret Cho/Lifetime series. She looks so cute! It's amazing what a little hair product can do.
As happy as I am that they'll still be together, the first few months? Seriously? Remember when they lived together and had a dog and were engaged and... none of this is ringing a bell? (I don't have a problem with them having their issues, that's how relationships actually work. But bwuh?)
I also really don't get how SARA OF ALL PEOPLE comes to Cath and is all "Oh hey baby, it's all about family, and remember you're the best!" I do think most of their mutual animosity had burned off by Season 7 -- even in the last scene from Kepler's reverse forensics episode where there was definite tension, at least they had learn to navigate each other in a professional realm. BUT WHUT? Sara was an instrumental part of the old family I agree, and her loss definitely took a toll on the rest of them in one way or the other, but I have an exceptionally hard time imagining her as some sort of instigator of new love and harmony or whatever this bullshit is. SARA. SOCIAL SKILLS. WHUT?
I also seriously don't see what they are getting it. If anything, I thought the team got along TOO WELL in the latter half of Season 9. They all get along just fine, and have breakfast or drinks after every shift, and are boring as hell. I didn't love every storyline where there was conflict between the CSIs (Catherine and Sara being the prime example) but the characters consistently had complex, evolving relationships with each other. That involves conflict. That has meaning.
I think most fans really loved those precious, few scenes where the team would all gather after shift back in the day because it was always after a long, draining, often unfathomable case. And you'd see that despite their differences, in those kind of moments there was a camaraderie and understanding between them that they probably couldn't find elsewhere. I see the new team eating together after a case, and I think... whatever. They feel tacked on, like okay, the fans said they like those scenes, so just pop a few more in wherever you can. I mean, I guess Ray and Riley have a hostage-situation bond, but how else would you characterize their relationship? There's nothing really there. Same with the Riley/Nick/Greg triumvirate, they get along and tease a little bit and... nothing of substance yet.
Brass and Catherine are interesting together. That's just about it at this point. And Doc, he's allowed to be interesting with SuperDave and Riley, randomly. Even Hodges/Wendy are not that interesting together anymore, their non-romance has been stalled for too long for me to care.
OH AND ALSO, THE MILLANDERS or whatever his Fake Judge Lastname was ARE COMING BACK? LOL WHUT. I believe I've read this fanfic before.
And last but not least,
Season 4 Dexter Promo. EXCITEMENT. I love the comic element of this show, looks like this season will bring out that strength quite well.
