Laurence Fishburne is supposedly close to a deal to become the new lead on CSI.
I'm confused. Someone working at the LVPD crime lab who isn't skinny, white, and blandly inoffensive? SHUT. UP.
Maybe he can have a hot affair with a certain sexy warden at the women's prison from Season 4, just saying. Hey, it's not like Marg hasn't already done it. The having her real-life spouse on the show thing, not the affair with a sexy female warden thing.
I can't say he was on my Top Ten list of potential Grissom replacements, but most of my list was highly unrealistic as it was. Nevertheless, this would NOT SUCK. (When talking about CSI, that's high praise.) He's talented, but not only that, he seems like the type of actor that can actually ~make it work~. A lot of actors can't make all those little boring scenes where someone stares at carpet fibers watchable, or keep an honest sense of character present while on the rollercoaster of the CSI writing staff's continuity-hating fuckery episode to episode.
I might actually watch beyond episode 10 if he comes on board. Mind you, I will watch any new episode of 30 Rock first every time, but still, I didn't think I would care at all. And I do! Mildly, but still!
