GREETINGS VELOCI-MITES! I have returned from my funky adventures through space and time a new man, ready to take the art of Comic Shop Newsletter writing to the next level! Things are going to get dangerous from here on out, so I hope you all got safety goggles for the Holidays. I want to take this opportunity to thank Patrick for filling in for me last week, I hope he wasn’t too preening and awkward.

SHIPPING DELAY- As any ink-blooded comic fan knows, the new year brings more than just a chance to move forward, it also brings shipping delays. This week, comics will be delayed until FRIDAY 1/4/08. Take this extra time to reconnect with an old friend and frame them for a crime!
DRAW- Submissions have been pouring in for our current DRAW! KIRBY contest, but we still haven’t gotten yours! I hope you weren’t hurt or anything, I’m beginning to worry. Surely you know that all you have to do is bring in a drawing in any medium of any Kirby creation and FREE COMICS could be yours, votes willing! You have nothing to lose, unless you’re one of those soulful artistic types for whom the act of creation is also an act of destruction. If that’s the case, please be careful.

END LEAGUE #1- Fan favorites RICK REMENDER AND MATT BROOME present an all new series that’s described as a melding of THE LORD OF THE RINGS and THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. I don’t know if that means Batman is going to call Sam a punk and then kick his fat face in or not, but I’ll check it out anyway.
ULTIMATE HUMAN #1- Based on the title of this book I first assumed it was about my Grandma, but as it turns out, what happened was, Super-hero writer extraordinaire WARREN ELLIS and drawer of muscles CARY NORD posed the question, ‘what would happen if IRON MAN fought THE HULK?’ to Marvel and Marvel was like, ‘go for it bro.’
ESSENTIAL POWER MAN AND IRON FIST TP VOL 01-I heard that when Ralp Macchio was in training for KARATE KID he read these issues and that’s where they got the whole crane kick thing.
