I met Punky Brewster at Urban Outfitters today!!!! Ok, so her real name is Soleil Moon Frye but she'll always be Punky to me. I've been looking for a new bag and a new pair of dark denim trouser jeans so after work i took a walk up Broadway to hit up all the end of summer sales. Urban Outfitters was having a HUGE half off sale but it was a complete mess in the back room, clothes strewn everywhere and on the floor. but, im used to having to dig for the deals so i copped a sqaut and started sifting. But i found out that i was sitting on the floor next to Punky Brewster!! I get weird around famous, er semi famous, people and dont really like to gush and and ask for autographs. but she spoke to me first! i had a pile next to me of stuff i was going to try on. i picked it up and was getting ready to walk to the dressing room but she stopped me.
"Hey, if you dont want that green shirt after you try it on can you leave it with the girl in the dressing room? she's a friend of mine who'll hold it for me until i get back there. Tell her it's for..."
"Soleil, right?" I kinda whispered it in case people around noticed her too.
"Yeeesss, thats me" she whispered back and gave me a sweet double thumbs up.
I just nodded and smiled and waved to her as i walked to the dressing room. I actually really liked the shirt and it fit great but once i got to the register i found out it wasnt on sale. Damn those biatches who cant put back their shit in the right place! so i walked past the sale rack to see if Soleil was still there but she was gone. i took the shirt back to the dressing room.
"This is for Soleil, she wanted you to hold it for her." i told the dressing room chic.
"Oh! Im over here hun" she yelled as she waved her hand out of a fitting room. "Can ya pass it over?" i tossed it over the door and let her know it wasnt on sale.
"Oh, really? That sucks! well, its cute enough. Thanks hun"
"No problem, enjoy"
So, yeah. that was my punky experience. it's dumb but i was so glad to hear that she was miffed about the shirt not being on sale. kinda reminds me that not all famous, er semi famous people completely disregard price when shopping... at least for a passing moment before she ultimately bought it. she seemed nice.
