weekends are just too short. especially mine since i work on saturdays. nonetheless it was good times.
friday was ACORN's annual softball game. we got to get off early for a paid afternoon of softball and beer. we continued on to the Brooklyn Tavern and got a bunch of free drinks cause the bartender had a huge crush on one of my co-workers. yay for gullible men... suckers! I had to work on saturday until 2pm but afterwards i met up with a friend at central park to watch the cutest senior citizens do a dance routine on roller skates. lots of breakdancing and little musical groups around the park. quite the happening place. it was the first saturday of the month so me and corey and her two friends from Boston went to South Paw for their hip hop night. Great crowd! the guys at the place can really dance. and even the ones that cant dance, dont give a shit and are just so entertaining to watch. we got a little circle goin and i found out that corey can breakdance. we danced the nigt away until 3:30am.
we all spent the night at coreys so we could get in line early sunday morning for the free M.I.A concert in central park. if you havent heard of her she's pretty awesome. she's and indian MC, rapper, singer chic. her songs are pretty upbeat but most of them are about child prostitution, third world depression and domestic violence. fun!
the rest of sunday was pretty chill. made dinner, watched I Heart the Huckabees and did a little cleaning. and now the week has started again, ugh.
