DoA and things
i've been looking a little more at DoA, mainly at the marketplace for the WTB ads. i suppose the new layout is ok, though i do miss the old ones, if only for nostalgic reasons.
whether it's because DoA is no longer the place for bjds, or i'm simply not on the forum for hours anymore, but the place feels lackluster. i guess if i bothered to delve more into the discussions, but nothing seems to be exciting anymore. the last and i guess current thing is the whole anti-recast/pro-artist spiel. is that the latest thing about bjds? none and thankfully no new molds really catch my eye, and i miss many of the old members i recognized. i know flickr and tumblr are fairly active, but is there no alternative forum to be part of?
has the influx of new people overwhelmed many of the old members? i miss seeing these dolls. it sucks when i can't find out where they've gone, or if they've simply left the hobby. i myself am not very active, but i still enjoy bjds.
also almost a month ago i finally got an email from enchanted dolls. yes the one by the russian artist. you know after 3 or 4 years. i'm aware many others have waited longer for the porcelain dolls, but i'm sorry to those who like these dolls but no. the waiting and the cost really put me off. when the email stated that the dolls would be even more expensive, and not come with a wig, it was too absurd. it is unfair to raise the price exponentially for people who waited for years to buy one. i lost interest a long while ago, and saved my money thank you. i know there are many who will be happy to buy one, but i'm not that big of a fan.
