i started thinking about what christmas presents to give about a month ago. also, i just caught up with two-and-a-half weeks of my lj flist, but i've been keeping up with my dw list. i'm mostly on facebook and tumblr now. i hate twitter. i suppose i'd like it better if i had a smartphone and not a phone from 1996.

pop culture: 'red' was highly enjoyable, because i love every actor in that movie, i still have a crush on bruce willis, karl urban has cute hair, and mary louise parker is absolutely precious. finally saw the facebook movie, and i gotta say i do not see anyone's name on the masthead, and the press photos are hilarious where justin timberlake's a third wheel.

i had my brother download 'community' and i stopped watching an episode-and-a-half in, but he watched it all in one sitting. i caught up with 'boardwalk empire' last night, mostly by fast-forwarding through any scenes where there are men talking politics, since i'm finding the scenes with the women so much more interesting, and my brother exclaimed "she is so adorable" out loud about kelly macdonald, which, yeah. i've stopped watching 'the event', i'm bored and done with it. the best, absolute best show i'm loving right now is 'downton abbey' (i had my fists in the air, cheering, in the last ep) to the point where i've been torrenting 'upstairs, downstairs' for the past month to get more of my english manor fix.

the kind of music i'm enjoying right now are mashups and orchestral versions of pop songs: here is an orchestra version of kids-mgmt. here is a classical version of telephone-lady gaga. here is a radiohead/dave brubeck mashup of five step and take 5.
