New Years was really pretty good. I got to spend it with Keith...albeit we both came down with colds for some reason or another; so now we are starting off the new year sick. Oh well. Watched Beerfest and some other good movies that I hadn't seen, like BIG TROUBLE in little china and Spaceballs. Other than that not much happened, we got invited to go to everyone's party, which was just not doable - it's not like we're santa claus or something. Next year if we are not sick or do not have to work I don't want to make plans for New Years, and that way if anyone asks us to come to a party at the last minute it'll be sort of a first come first serve premise.
Today I bought some expensive and good quality cognac at Shamrock. The chick behind the counter laughed when she saw that my name was Brandy and I was buying Brandy...and she made it point to bring this to everyone's attention in the store. Lovely. Needless to say, yes my dad did name me after his favourite liquor...enough said.
Today I also attempted to purchase all of my books for next semester. I succeeded in this, with the exception of two books, Henry Fielding's "Jonathan Andrews" and Horace Walpole's "The Castle of Otranto," which means I ended up ordering them from Amazon and the should be here soon. No bookstore, the on campus and off campus book store included, had these books in stock.
So that was my day, not too thrilling, and just sort of layed back. And to be honest, that isn't so bad from time to time. Quick question, Does anyone else ever feel like Dougie Howser when they write in their LJ? For some reason I just got a very Dougie vibe and I could hear the ending theme music from that show playing in my head. Odd, I know...must be the cognac.
