I hate this video in particular, I feel like it's just fueling outrage among us by emphasizing the word 'humiliation'. I already did feel annoyed at this improper raical treatment and the American's ignorance but now im aghast as it has pretty much affected Shahrukh's reputation. :(

lol, i hear you bb and i wasn't this worked up until i started seeing how degrading everyone was being about Rukhie and assuming he thinks he's all high and mighty. i mean why doesn't he have the right to be annoyed/hurt about this sort of treatment. any hollywood star would *rolls eyes*

re his reputation - to us he will always be King Khan but now most of the Western world will have a completely wrong impression and over something unreasonable too :(

well when my last name was Khan they never detained me or my husband. I do however know several other people who are always detained at the airports and strip searched. Two work for embassies themselves and have diplomatic immunity, yet are STILL stopped; another is a white woman whos makeup is always dissassembled (she still has no idea why), and another is a very light skinned hispanic young woman that they always put through the drug detector. (She has never done drugs in her life.)
Honestly, I think once you get one complaint they put you on a list for life. Who knows? Maybe another actor was trying to stir up trouble.
Last time I went through they detained me for a plastic explosive search. (The first time ever, and my name isn't Khan anymore...)

you poor thing! i understand that they're doing their jobs and security is obviously very tight over there, but i just can't believe that they didn't at least put a phone call through to India to verify that yes he's a very respected actor and not some major security risk that deserves TWO HOURS detention - it would have taken them five minutes tops.
it makes me hesitant to travel to America in future :(

While I totally HATE TSA and their theatre of BS security, and the profiling of "dangerous ethnicities", a.) who exactly would they call in India that would have sufficient clout to give the pass for SRK, and b.) would they pick up and answer the phone at "x" time in the day?
If I were detained in China (as I have been) I doubt I'd be able to say "Call America! They'll vouch for me!"
Mostly I said "Don't shoot me! I haven't done anything wrong!"
And they said "Shut up. Sit there. Don't move."
And I said "Ok."
If you could get through ANY airport problem in under 5 minutes, that would be a miracle.
Srsly.

they could start by calling an indian embassy, in america or in india and as for peopel not picking up the phones, i'm sure all government's have some lines open for foreign delegates and whatnot
