I had a facebook once, I stopped using said facebook almost two years ago and I couldn't be happier about said decision for MANY reasons but I found out through some other people that some people are writing this on there?

"WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Press 1 for English. Press 2 to disconnect until you learn to speak English. And ( Read more... )

I've been sitting here trying to figure out how to say this without coming across as a giant douchebag, so I'll start by saying I mean no offense in anything I'm about to say and that you are more than free to disagree with me. Okay, here it goes ( ... )

PS - I do know that learning a new language as an adult is extremely difficult. I've been trying to learn Spanish for years, and it's soooo hard. lol I can roll my R's though! I've been told it's genetic and you either can or you can't. i don't know if that's true though.

just thought of adding it is not genetic in any way. We studied it in genetics and there is a gene that prevents people from rolling their tongue, not their r's, that's something everyone can do but it's hard for people that have never done it.

Good to know. It's always hard to get my tongue going if I haven't done it in awhile, but once I get it started it's pretty smooth sailing. ...Wow, that sounded kinda dirty. lol

Yes, Gas prices did rocket and I do not blame the people in the military whom were sent to Iraq to fight, they were lied to like the rest of us as far as I am concerned. Bush wanted to clean up his fathers mess of putting Sadam in power and the hunt for oil. Bush, ordered things to happen, that if any other leader had they would have been dragged to the UN War Crimes Commission.

I thought he already was in power before Bush Sr. I could be wrong though, so you'll have to forgive me. Clinton himself tried several times to take him out quietly but it never worked out. Bush Jr. I never really blamed in so much as he didn't seem to be the 'brains of the outfit' as it were. I always blamed Cheney. That and I'm still not convinced there weren't weapons of mass destruction at some point. There were several reports from even some inside Iraqis that they were moved to Iran when it became pretty clear we were moving in. There was also a lot of leniency given by the UN when Iraq was clearly not abiding by the limitations set for them after the war. For example, they always acted as though they did have weapons of mass destruction and that they had every right to until the very end. Whether you do or not, you don't act as though you do unless you want to tick some people off. My argument against it was always, why are we going to Iraq specifically? There are a lot of other countries doing the same things so ( ... )

sorry I come from a pseudo military family myself with my stepdad and his kids and all of them loving the military, he's a cop too but I still think wars, fighting and all of that is the dumbest thing and f there's ANYTHING that human beings SHOULD learn from the past is that wars solve nothing.

I am of the thinking armies need to be peacefully and happily let go off all together and some countries have and it works just fine for them too.

That sounds beautiful but I just don't think it's realistic. I wish it were, but there are so many jerks out there that would take advantage of a completely pacifistic world.

PS (again) - I like this post. I like being able to have a political debate without feeling like I can't express myself without becoming a target or it dissolving into a 'you suck!' fight.
