No, the title above is not a typo. I've watched "A Study In Pink" about a dozen times now and as a result a bunch of questions have arisen. Some are trivial, others more profound.
So, here we go (in chronological order):
1.) The third suicide happens in January but when John Watson meets Mike Stamford in the park (on what's supposed to be the day after the third suicide) the sun is shining brightly and it looks much like spring. What's that about?
2.) 221B it says on the front door of the Baker Street building. So, is the entire building labelled 221B? Does Mrs. Hudson live in 221B as well? And if so, why is the basement flat numbered 221C? (Though, technically, we don't learn that it's labelled C until "The Great Game".) Or does Mrs. Hudson live in 221A? But then it should be only 221 on the front door, right? And - where's the mail box?
2b.) I only thought of this question after I'd already posted the entry, so I had to edit it and hence the 2b. So... there's a poster of a blue skull on the wall behind the sofa in the flat. Did Sherlock put it there when he moved in? Was it already there? Does it belong to Mrs. Hudson? Sherlock doesn't seem like a poster-putting-guy, but neither does Mrs. Hudson. So, who does the poster belong to? Who put it there?
3.) Sherlock introduces Sally Donovan as "an old friend". What's that supposed to mean?
4.) Why isn't the pink lady's umbrella pink? A woman this color-conscious should have an umbrella in every color, fitting to the rest of her clothes, right? After all, she had a pink case. Why not a pink umbrella? Why white?
5.) After the drugs bust and after Sherlock has taken off Sally says "He'll always let you down". Does she speak from experience? How was she let down by Sherlock?
6.) Why does John take the laptop with him when he traces Sherlock and the phone? Okay, I found an answer to that myself: He takes it in case the phone's moving again and he has to renew the search. Obvious. BUT... why does John give the taxi driver directions like "left here" and such? Why not give him the adress the laptop spits out?
7.) Why is there only one pill in each bottle when Sherlock and the cabby are about to take it? Before, with the other "suicides", we see there are always three pills in each bottle. Did the cabby run out of them? What's that about?
8.) Was Sherlock right? Did he choose the right bottle?
9.) Why does John shoot with his right hand when he's otherwise left-handed? Do they train soldiers in the army to always shoot with their right? Or has it something to do with the better eye for aim? I think I've once read something like that but I'm not sure.
10.) What's the petty feud between Sherlock and Mycroft? And what were Christmas dinners at the Holmes' like?
And last but not least (and not in chronological order because I noticed it several times throughout all three episodes):
11.) How does Sherlock tie his scarf? I've tried to follow his movements (I even played it in slow motion and paused) but I can't get it right. How does he do that? Where did he learn to do it that way?
See, this is what happens when one is exhausted to the bone and finally at home after 10 hours of nonstop work.
My brain hurts now, I'm gonna go to bed. I'd apprechiate it though if anyone would bother to answer one question or another.
