Yes, been thinking again, probably wondering what is on this tiny, insignificant , gray, gelatinous matter we call the brain. I guess today its about different things again or maybe something no one will touch . There is nothing wrong with reading someone's journal, it is done everyday. Well my brain has been forming those flotsam images and visions again, so better get them down before they go into the Brain's "Sea of Forgetfulness".
Today , how about reading on how some people deal with social stigmas, my personal fave. It seems to tie in to the meds thought of the day before, now this thought deals with actual diagnosis of conditions of the brain, whether physical, mental or emotional in nature, and these conditions have the most stigmas attached.
And since I go through it on a daily basis I can tell you from experience it has a negative effect on the person with the condition in question. It makes you not go to the doctor, hence you tend to blame the doctor for your condition and send you out into the world full of stigmas, that you didn't know existed. Now you know, and he isn'tthere to support you, and chances are, your family , the very people who are supposed to support you, don't, they are just as bad, if not worse at times. this is my experience with stigmas from conditions of the brain.
Best bet though, Go to a library and read up on it yourself and learn about it , or read about other people's experiences. the more you know about stigmas being out there, the more you'd try not to use them in your own lives. because one day. you will be diagnosed with a condition, and a stigma will be there to haunt you.
Just remember, not all of those people with brain conditions are "Mentally Retared, or "Mentally or "Emotionally Unstable" "And don't know what they are talking about."Because sometimes, they actually do understand and they are human beings with a soul.
And never forget those who are diagnosed with those conditions of "Mental Retardation" or"Mental or Emotional Instablilty", that they too have a soul, emotions and they too are just as human as we are, perhaps...even more so.
