Eh, why not.

* Make a post (public, friends/access locked, filtered, whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

I see this every year, and I never do it. After all, while it's all right for other people to want things and ask for them, I'm not worth that, and should just suffer in silence. But this evening I received a long talking to about being good to myself, so what the hell, right? Put it out into the ether. A week before Christmas is ridiculously short notice, but I needed the time to convince myself that I get to at least ask for things, just like everyone else does.

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer fic focusing on Faith and Mayor Wilkins. I always, always want father/daughter fic for them, but it never seems to get written.

2. A Neal/Sara vid set to Cake's "Short Skirt Long Jacket"

3. Book recs. Mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, and fairy tale/folklore retellings. The kind thing you think I particularly might like.

4. Emilie Autumn icons. Or wallpapers. Anything EA related, honestly.

5. It's supposed to be ten, isn't it? I don't think I'm there yet. Putting five things here is quite enough. I feel faint as it is. We'll finish this with my Amazon wishlist. I really, honestly cannot imagine that anyone who reads this will spend money on me. But other people have put their wishlists up, and it's supposed to be okay to ask for such things. It doesn't hurt to put it up there. (Bad thing to to think. Now I'm imagining all the ways which it could hurt.)
