I love my job
I just got back from a meeting, and in the conference room across from me, my friend Melissa is in a meeting. She's barefoot and whiteboarding.
I love that I work in a place where no one cares if you're barefoot.
On the way to my last meeting, I ran into Joy, one of our execs.
Joy: Hi Danielle!
Me: Hi, pretty lady!
Joy: *giggles* I love you!
Me: Love you back!
I love that I can hug one of our execs and tell her I love her, and mean it.
This place is full of my people. These people are family, and I'm so grateful to be here.
I also love that our company is minority-owned...by the second-richest African-American in the country. David Steward has more money than Oprah. More than Michael Jordan! Also, he's so, so kind. I love that he starts meetings and holiday events with a prayer.
Working in tech is the best. Working for this company is the best. I'm so glad I left YP!
