Thanks for all the congrats! For those who asked: It wasn't spur of the moment. We had been planning it a while but kept it under wraps. We are in Portland now, enjoying the free wireless at Powell's. Here are a bunch more pictures from Thursday:http://

Travel yesterday was a big FUBAR... amtrak fucked us over so we had to go greyhound, and ended up being in seattle for exactly 10 minutes between 1:10 and 1:20. I'm so sorry... I logged onto AIM on my phone to try to let you know but you weren't online (obviously). We will be back to Seattle for sure sometime!!

Doh! I'm sorry to hear that. I know that a lot of stuff could've come up and I never traded contact infoz with you, so I hung out in the station having accepted that a wide variety of things might happen which could interfere. I did get to examine the renovations to the train station, and appreciated a moment to just hang out in Seattle, since I've been gone for a week. (I considered logging into AIM with my phone too, but then thought "Where is she gonna log onto AIM from?" ho ho!)

Catch you next time! I am totally sending you contact infos in the interim.

What happened! It sounds like it was good that I didn't try and get on the 8AM bus with you.

Yes, very good. We showed up at like 7:15 and there were no ticket agents around, either for Amtrak or for Via Rail (where we were directed by a sign on the amtrak desk). All we had was our confirmation number and were supposed to pick up tickets at the station. I called their 800 number and was able to get a so-called "boarding number" that would enable us to get on the bus. THEN we couldn't find the bus, because it wasn't in back with all the Greyhound bus bays, it was in front in the drop-off area ( ... )

Oh man. How terrible! I thought my bus being like an hour late to Seattle was bad. You should call your credit card company, too, and try and undo the charge from Amtrak!
